Bathroom Lights, Whirlpools, and Other Ways to Bring Your Home into the 21st Century

Our home is the place where we spend most of our time so it makes sense that we spend a lot of our money improving it to make it better. With new designs to create a modern home appearing every year some people are constantly changing their colour schemes and furniture to match.
We take it for granted these days that we should have central heating, double glazing, hot water on tap and an indoor toilet. Bathrooms are often just as luxurious as the rest of the house with shower cubicles and bidets. Some may even have Whirlpools which has become very popular over the last few years. Also the bathroom lighting is very important and the majority of people will make sure that they get the right sort of bathroom lights to create the best effect. A visit to a bathroom lighting centre is recommended where they can get good advice and have a great deal of choice. In some homes there are en-suite bathrooms and these might be decorated and have lighting to match the bedroom. Most women like to have a big kitchen and often these will include a dishwasher, microwave oven and an automatic washing machine. Children usually have their own bedrooms and even their own television and computer in some homes. People are just as concerned about the garden and may even have a whirlpool outside or a hot tub.

How times have changed from years ago when it was considered normal to have an outside toilet and most unusual to have a bathroom. Having a bath meant dragging a tin bath up from the downstairs cellar and boiling up kettles of hot water. Some children used to have their weekly bath in the dolly tub after the washing had been done. Rooms were lit by one electric light bulb and baths were taken in front of the coal fire. This is a far cry from today’s modern world and we take it so much for granted. Homes have never been as warm and comfortable as they are today and they just get better and better. When modernising any room in the house the type of lighting used makes a huge difference right down to the type of lighting in the bathroom. Why have a beautiful bathroom spoilt by having the wrong type of bathroom lighting?
